Lisa Engle, this woman who writes to you, comes from an extremely broad spectrum of experiences.  When asked why I haven't become a chiropractor, for years, my quick and short answer was that the time, energy, and money required isn't something I'm willing to take from my children.  In fact, the priority of time for them is at least part of why this project has been "in the oven" for so long.

While I am thoroughly rooted into the science, philosophy, and art of chiropractic, I do not think that I will ever deliver an adjustment...I do, and will continue to, deliver a powerful and authentic chiropractic experience that supports the expression of Life, that facilitates healing and the realization of optimal function.  I adjust paradigms and perceptions.

One of my most powerful experiences working in chiropractic was attending the centennial celebration in Davenport, IA, September, 1995.  I was forever changed.  I knew that I too had been given a sacred trust.  I am honored to serve this profession for its authentic, fullest, and optimal expression.  Not by my design, but rather, authentically through me.

I began working in chiropractic in 1989, for my stepfather who was, at that time still a student at Life college (now University).  He was a 50-50 partner in the practice as the massage therapist and upon graduation, became the sole proprietor.  I am fortunate (and you are too) that he enrolled me, he empowered me, and immersed me into chiropractic.  We were seminar junkies; hooked and couldn't get enough.  I was immersed in so much more than the "feel good" affirmations of how important our work is, the practical advice, suggestions, and procedures.  We used some from "here" and more from "there" and over time, developed, with MUCH intention and attention, a practice that reflected the way we want to spend our days.

In the time I've worked at the office, I went through a divorce, was a single mom to two amazing, now adult, children; I married an extremely supportive and loving man and then have had three more kids.  Having children has been the most powerful, beautiful, painful, empowering, humbling, and debilitating experience I can imagine.  I still learn from my children daily and the truths of who I am and who I am becoming, is largely credited to their participation in calling me to be the design that is in me...to authentically express it, experience it, and share it.

Beyond my time in the clinic and with my children, I have served as a school PTA president, Vice president, Wellness Chair for 2 schools, various other committee leads and most recently accepted a wellness co-chair position for a County School Council of PTA's.  I have taught for the Georgia Council of Chiropractic for more than a dozen years in the Chiropractic Assistant Certification course and been a speaker at their conventions.  A variety of other opportunities have come over the years that have knit me into the chiropractic community, both local and internationally.  After recently working through a Health Coach certification program w/ Wellcoaches, I was "nudged" to begin another adventure that also supports optimal expression of potential, OptiMOM Coaching.  You can learn more at optiMOMcoaching.com and trust that the work in this capacity only increases the awareness and commitment to Innate health and supporting the expression of it.  I'm hopeful to build a network of chiropractic supporters w/ OptiMOM Coaching so that I can help transform the community around a DC office, really solidifying the work being done in your office.

It truly is my honor to give, to love, and to serve / support your work.
