Once upon a time...
Decades ago, a seed was plated. Having 5 children, being the daughter of a midwife, and being involved in the (home) birthing community, I use pregnancy and labor analogies all the time and this experience of my book coming to fruition, no different. The seed was planted by Innate in many (many!) hours of my seminar junkie days, immersed with some of the greats in the profession (loads of management teams included). Through the years and years of being a "seminar junkie", truly hooked on the experiential high of learning about this profession, I came to believe there is not a one size fits all way of practicing, expressing, and experiencing chiropractic. I also have come to know that that once we make a call on what it "looks like", it will evolve, expand, simplify, and be refined many times over. My understanding, participation, and expression in my Art in chiropractic has done just that. In order to truly connect with anyone, including ourSelves, I believe there must be authenticity.
After many years, I recognized being "pregnant" with the knowing that there has been something growing in me, that isn't me. After some more seasons passed, perhaps another baby even (I mentioned 5, yes?), I began to recognize the parts. "oh, a head here. This feels like a little foot. That's a bottom pressed into my ribs." and the like. The chapter content became clearer and clearer. And then...like the beautiful gift of pregnancy, it gets heavy...you're ready to move into labor...potentially one of the most beautiful, powerful, most demanding acts of your life.
And so, I've been nesting, creating a writing nook, choosing the website, the new computer, and organizing notes. I've hired more than capable staff to love our clinic family, leaving me with a bit more time and greater flexibility to write. The last of my babies now in school giving me more flexibility. First signs of early labor began a few years ago and now I'm prepared to birth this thing, to serve the profession in a way that I can only hope will impact it a small fraction of how it has impacted me.
While there is insight into the vision of this "baby", content mapped out, nudges for action, etc. I do realize that I am choosing to be surrendered to it becoming what it is, that I am simply an instrument for it's expression and I am excited to know it more. I hope what I will deliver will serve you well and support this profession in ways that ripple FAR beyond simply an office manual. Please read the book blog with a gracious heart, remembering that this work is in it's RAW state, a rough draft. Because I trust a plan that is far greater and broader than mine will be revealed with my participation (and yours), I begin.

Thank you for your interest and support! I hope to hear your input and feedback as you're led. If you're a praying person, I welcome your covering as this baby comes...
